Richard Wagner Leonard Bernstein

Wow, here's an old clip of Leonard Bernstein conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Watch for the bass clarinetist, with the glasses. He's none other than my favorite clarinet teacher ever.

Felix Viscuglia, he was in the Boston Symphony for over 20 years and I had the pleasure to study with him at UNLV.

The principal clarinetist is Harold Wright, who Felix told me, if I were ever to "copy" someone. Harold should be it!

Felix was in his early 70's when I studied with him in the late 90's, I haven't spoken to him in a while but I bet he's still kicking and feistier than ever!

I'll get in touch with him and let you all know how he's doing and how he feels about see/hearing a performance done easily 30 years ago.
